We’re upgrading Biloela Hospital to give patients better access and improved quality of healthcare services. These upgrades will also support efforts for staff recruitment, attraction, and retention for Biloela Hospital.
We have several projects happening at Biloela Hospital:
We’re completing minor works to the existing Biloela Hospital operating theatre and a refresh to the birthing suite.
These minor works included some demolition, painting, mechanical upgrades, additional power, data, and lighting corrections.
We’re replacing our staff accommodation facilities with six new modern units.
This project will deliver six units which will improve living conditions for current staff and support our efforts to attract future healthcare specialists to the Biloela area.
The units will be installed in a staged approach:
These units will have modern, comfortable design including an undercover car park, ramp accessibility, internet access, outdoor clothesline, shared living space, a kitchenette and laundry. The three-bedroom units also feature an ensuite bedroom.
The new accommodation units will sit within the current Biloela hospital footprint and have access from State Farm Road.
Biloela Hospital will be upgraded in a staged approach to support the delivery of modern, high-quality healthcare.
Planning is currently in the concept design stage. It will move into the schematic and detailed design phase mid-late 2025.
The Biloela Hospital projects will help support a modern facility focused on patient-centred care, designed and guided by best practice and respect for Country.
These projects will ensure safe, sustainable service delivery of existing services and meet the need for healthcare closer to home.
